Trowbridge Sea Cadets showed off their new mini-bus before last Thursday’s area board meeting, to thank the organisation for giving them a £5,000 grant.
Representatives from the TS Achilles unit visited the area board at their meeting at County Hall. The vehicle, which is being shared with Clarendon Academy, cost £12,000 with grants also coming from the Royal Navy Service Association, the Bernard Sunley Foundation and other trusts.
Alick Moore, chairman of the unit management team, said: “We needed a reliable vehicle to get cadets to competitions and training camps.”
The youth organisation is based in Frome Road and meets Monday and Thursday evening each week. See www. sea-cadets.org/trowbridge
