This year’s Poppy Appeal in Bratton has been the most successful ever.
We set off to a good start when Andy Hobbs, landlord of the Duke at Bratton, presented us with a cheque for £1,500 at the launch of the Appeal in Imber. This Andy and Lyn had raised at their Autumn Fundraising Weekend at The Duke.
As a result of the generosity of many villagers the house-to-house collection raised £2,141. Boxes in the shop, The Duke, Pickleberry and the school produced a further £433. Other events brought the village total to £5,172, an all-time record. Thank you to all who gave so generously and to those who helped with the appeal.
Lt Col Anthony Hyde, Poppy Appeal organiser, Bratton.
