A 37-year-old man was arrested and later charged with drink-driving after a crash in Trowbridge yesterday evening which damaged a garden wall.
Marcin Szlek, of Rutland Crescent, Trowbridge, driving a silvery blue BMW, was in collision with the back of a silver Nissan Micra parked on Seymour Road at 4.50pm, forcing it through the front wall.
He tried to flee the scene, but was stopped by police officers and taken to Melksham Police Station. He has since been charged with failing to report a road traffic accident, failing to stop after an accident, and driving with excess alcohol.
He has now been released on police bail, and will appear before magistrates in Chippenham on Thursday, December 5.
