People are being encouraged to share memories of their lives in the county for a Wiltshire People First’s history project.
The Semington-based charity received £21,300 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to run the project, which records the lives of people with learning difficulties, their families or carers, who have lived or worked in the west Wiltshire area over the last 100 years.
Using their own words, contributors will tell the stories of how people lived then and now, to reflect society’s changing attitudes towards disability. The records will be archived at the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.
A community focus group will be staged at St James’ Hall, Trow-bridge, on Thursday, from 10.30am to 12.30pm, for people to share stories. For details, call 01380 871900.
