As people across Wiltshire dig deep into their pockets to support the people of the Philippines after last week’s devastating typhoon, one Melksham company is preparing to process thousands of pounds of donations.
Valldata, based on Halifax Road in Bowerhill, processes all the mailed donations sent to the DEC appeal from across the country.
Marketing manager Hazel Miller said: “We process all of the payments coming in by mail, so the cheques and some cash, and we also support the main call centre with a query line.
“We have worked with the DEC for a very long time, so we are all ready set up and are able to react to an emergency campaign in 48 hours.
“We will keep working as long as they keep going, we usually have a peak two weeks to a month within a campaign launching.
“Sending cheques is not declining, people are probably donating online more, but we are we are not seeing any decline.”
