The demolition of Wiltshire Council’s former Bradley Road offices has began in preparation for the land going on sale in 2014.
The council closed the premises last year as part of their cost-cutting project which will see them close 95 of their buildings with only three remaining. A project which will see 20 community campuses created as part has also began to coincide with the closures.
The ongoing work at the Bradley Road site has seen a public pathway closed off for safety reasons with it due to reopen when the work is completed.
Wiltshire Council held their first meeting in the newly refurbished council chamber, at County Hall, in Trowbridge on Tuesday.
As part of the council’s streamlining the council has spent £22m refurbishing County Hall.
