Police are investigating an attempted burglary at a house in Rectory Close, Warminster, on November 5.
A man, aged between 20-23 years old, wearing a grey jacket was seen trying to break into the rear of the property at about 10am, but ran off towards Dorothy Walk after being disturbed.
DC Nick Holt is looking for any witnesses who may have seen a similarly described man running away from the address or who has information regarding his identity.
DC Holt said: "We would also like to remind people to lock windows and doors whenever they leave home and overnight. Opportunist criminals will take any opportunity to break-in and simple precautions will help avoid presenting the property as a target.
“Also consider informing a trusted neighbour or friend to keep an eye on your property if you are going to be away.
"Burglars are almost exclusively targeting jewellery at the moment and we would highly recommend that any valuable pieces are photographed, documented and locked away securely."
Anyone who has information on this incident is asked to contact DC Holt at the Salisbury Priority Crime Team Salisbury on 101 or call Crimestoppers 0800 555111 where information may be left anonymously.
