Excited children and model train enthusiasts were in their element at West Wilts Gauge 0 Group’s 14th annual model railway show on Saturday, at the Paragon Hall in Westbury.
As well as a range of layouts and demonstrations, the show offered visitors an opportunity to operate a Gogton Middle layout.
Other new additions included the Bentley Model Railway Group with their 2mm finescale Hedges Hill Cutting layout, while Ken Hedges also made his debut with his South West TMD layout.
Group organiser John Cruse said: “It was a great show and it was nice to see so many people from Westbury come along.
“There were lots of new faces as well as those who regularly attend and everyone I spoke to said they really enjoyed it. We sold about 260 tickets overall, which is great.
“We had a good variety of layouts and it was nice to see the children’s faces when the trains were going around the tracks. They especially loved the chance to operate one of the layouts.”
The group is still looking for new premises to hold their meetings and events, after recently finding out that its current home at the top floor of Andil Mill in Trowbridge is being refurbished next year.
Mr Cruse said: “It’s been a bit of an up and down year for the group with the problems finding new premises, but the show has definitely been an up. We will now intensify our search for a new place to hold our future meetings.”
