Trowbridge-based charity Alzheimer’s Support has a brand new four-legged recruit to help support dementia sufferers in the town.
Higby, a whippet cross rescued from Ireland, has been selected as the charity’s latest ‘dementia dog’, providing a link to normality for people with the debilitating disease.
He will spend most of his time at the charity’s day club in Devizes, but made a special trip to the Trowbridge centre on Park Road last week with centre manager Grant Newton.
Mr Newton said: “He met one of our members Doris. She adored him and wanted to sit next to him all day.”
