A former stand-up comedian has set up a counselling business to help others, after beating his own alcohol addiction.
Marios Kaikitis, of Trowb-ridge, battled with drink during his 30s, while on the London comedy circuit, and ended up in rehab in Bristol.
The 48-year-old, who has been sober for 12 and a half years, said: “When I used to do stand up comedy, I had a big ego but low self-esteem. Rehab was life changing.”
He studied for his counselling degree at the London School of Theology and has set up StressCare and Counselling Services to offer support to individuals and groups in Wiltshire.
His first workshop proved successful and, from November 29, there will be weekly Friday support groups at the Seymour Community Hub, Trowbridge, from 6pm to 7.30pm.
