Selwood Housing association has received a £300,000 government grant to upgrade the heating systems in 70 of its homes to make them more efficient.
Electric storage heaters will be replaced by air source heat pumps and solar water heating, with the project due to be completed by June next year.
Chris Newbury, Selwood Housing’s head of asset management, said: “We have done really well to win two of the eight successful bids in the South West.
“The tenants who receive these improvements will have warmer homes in the future and they should see improvements in their heating bills.”
