The man killed in a major head-on collision on the A350 on Tuesday has been named as 37-year-old Jamie Bray.
Mr Bray, from Melksham, was driving his Silver Rover 45 south towards the town at 6.05am, when it hit a blue Toyota Avensis travelling north.
He sustained serious injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota is believed to have suffered a broken arm, and was treated at the Bath RUH and discharged later that day.
The road was closed both ways to traffic for almost six hours.
The death has been reported to the coroner but an inquest has yet to be opened.
Police are still appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the collision to contact PC Kevin Fry of the serious collision investigation team (SCIT) on 101, or via kevin.fry@wiltshire.pnn.police.uk.
Alternatively information can be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
