The parents of a Warminster boy who died at Bristol Children’s Hospital in March last year will attend an inquest next week, into the death of another child at the same hospital weeks later.
Yolanda and Steve Turner’s four-year-old son, Sean, died six weeks after corrective surgery for a congenital heart condition.
Soon after, seven-year-old Luke Jenkins, of Cardiff, died in similar circumstances on the same ward, after surgery to correct a heart complaint he had suffered since birth.
Mrs Turner said: “Some of the same doctors will be giving witness statements at Sean’s inquest. On Thursday we will hear chief executive Richard Woolley.
“We will be attending every day the week after, to hear the expert witnesses. We have been in contact with Luke’s parents and they are anxious, but we all just want the truth.”
The inquest will start at Flax Bourton Coroner’s Court, near Bristol, on Monday and is expected to finish on November 21. The inquest into Sean’s death is scheduled for January.
