The dogs taken from the home of two Trowbridge animal charity supporters by the RSPCA last week were reunited with their owners on Tuesday.
Sarah-Jane Newbury and Tony Durant, who live in Innox Road, had their six spaniels and collie-crosses removed by RSPCA officers on October 26, after a fire broke out in the neighbouring house.
The pair, who travel the country collecting for animal charities, were out at the time and firefighters, who forced entry into their home, found the dogs and believed them to be in distress, so called in the RSPCA.
Miss Newbury said: “We feel we have been misunderstood by the RSPCA. The vets said they are all fine.”
