Dedicated mum and devoted fundraiser Maxine Armitage teamed up with local psychic medium Rob Willmott on Friday at West Ashton Village Hall to raise another £763 in aid of a charity which has supported her daughter Daisy, who suffers from Crohn’s disease.
Childminder Maxine Armitage, from Trowbridge, has already raised over £3,500 for the Crohn’s in Childhood Research Association, which has helped 11-year-old Daisy since she was diagnosed with the inflammatory bowel disease, three years ago.
Miss Armitage said: “I saw Rob in Southwick last month and he was so good that I thought I would approach him to see if he would do a charity night and I was over the moon when he said yes. We had a full house. It’s for such a good cause.”
“Daisy has recently started a new treatment at Bristol Children’s Hospital and is feeling about 90 per cent better, although she still receives gruelling three-hour infusions.
“The charity has been incredibly helpful on a practical day-to-day basis. My family and close friends have also all rallied round to make her quality of life so much better.”
Margaret Lee, chairman of CICRA, commented: “Great news that the evening was a sell-out.
“On behalf of all children with Crohn’s and Colitis I would like to thank Maxine Armitage and Rob Willmott and all those who attended such a wonderful evening.”
