A spooktacular display of pumpkins filled The Swan Hotel in Bradford on Avon for its first pumpkin carving competition.
All week people had been invited to carve a free pumpkin at the hotel and last Wednesday night the 21 entries, all entered anonymously, were judged.
Mayor John Potter, one of the judges, said: “A huge amount of effort has gone into these and there are some really clever designs.”
The adult category was won by Jenny Monkhouse, who won a meal for four at The Swan and the under 10 category by Pimpichcha Sullivan-Tailyour. Afterwards all the pumpkins were displayed around the hotel over Halloween.
Owner James Sullivan-Tailyour said that the competition had been such a success it would become a yearly event.
