Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision on the A350 between Lacock and Beanacre this morning.
At around 6.05am a Silver Rover 45 travelling south, towards Melksham, collided with a grey Toyota Avensis travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Rover, a 37-year-old man from Melksham, was seriously injured in the collision and died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the Toyota, a 32-year-old man also from Melksham, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the Bath RUH where he was later discharged.
The road was shut for approximately six hours to allow for investigation work at the scene to be completed.
Anyone with any information or who witnessed the collision and have not already given their details to police is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) on 101.
