A man was killed in a crash on the A350 this morning, which saw the road closed for almost six hours.
Wiltshire Police have confirmed the driver of a silver Rover was killed when his car collided with a dark Toyota Avensis shortly after 6am between Lacock and Beanacre.
His next of kin have been informed.
The road was closed in both directions from Westlands Lane in Beanacre up to the Whitehall Garden Centre, causing major traffic disruption as motorists sought out alternative routes.
The male driver of the Avensis sustained a broken arm in the collision and was taken to the Royal United Hospital, Bath, by land ambulance.
The A350 was reopened shortly after midday.
