VANDALS have forced St John’s Evangelical Church in Sutton Veny to close to the public, after it was attacked for the second time in just a few months.
The offenders went into the church in High Street sometime between 9am and 3pm on Friday and wrote an obscene word in the visitor’s book.
Church warden John Stidolph said: “I think we are disappointed that anyone who lives in the village would take that attitude towards their own church.
“The damage hasn’t caused any financial problems as we have luckily had volunteers clear it up, but I think lots of people are shocked that someone could desecrate the church in this way.”
