A ghoulish crowd of 400 trick or treaters turned out for a Trowbridge shopping centre’s annual Halloween celebrations yesterday.

Children dressed in spooky costumes went on a trail of The Shires Shopping Centre with store managers dishing out free treats.

The event was organised by The Shires’ management team and Cerry Robinson, who runs The Sweet Shop, based at the mall.

She said: “Everything has gone very well and we’ve been pleased to welcome so many families to a safe trick or treating environment.”

During the event, awards were given for the best costumes with eight-year-old Lauren Milner taking overall top spot.

Sarah-Louise Moore, The Shires centre manager, who dressed in skeleton costume for the day, said: “This is good colourful fun for all the family and we’ve been truly amazed by all the positive feedback we’ve received.”
