THE storms at the start of the half term week havn’t stopped a team of parents at King’s Park Academy, Melksham, working through the rain to renovate part of the playground.

The mums, who all have children in the primary school’s Apple Tree class, have spent the holiday working on a sensory garden for children with complex needs.

Kylie Bewley, whose nine-year-old son Da’ud attends the school, said: “We were all down there on Monday painting the shed, and we’ve put up a canvas mural of monkeys in the jungle all over the fence.

“Two classes will use it, children with autism, chromosome disorders and speech difficulties. There are all sorts of things in it to stimulate their minds.”

The renovations were paid for through donations from local businesses.
