With many schoolchildren still on half term on November 5, there are plenty of places to go to celebrate Bonfire Night this year actually on the day. Other venues have organised their bonfire and fireworks displays on different nights, so you have a choice of where to go to wave your sparkler and 'ooh' and 'aah' at the firework delights.
Here are some of the local venues which will be lighting up the sky this firework season.
Friday November 1
Longleat: a spectacular adventure-themed display set to classic movie music to mark the official Bonfire Weekend. Fireworks included in day ticket or animal pass. For more information and to book (places are limited) visit www.longleat.co.uk/events or call 01985 844400.
Heytesbury, nr Warminster: A fireworks extravaganza at The Red Lion, with a BBQ and a procession of Guy Fawkes at 6.30pm. Tickets are £1 for children and £2.50 for adults in advance from The Red Lion, Heytesbury School or the post office.
Saturday November 2

Broughton Gifford: the village bonfire and firework display will take place on the common. The fire will be lit at 6.30pm, with the display starting at 7pm. As usual there will be a bucket collection in aid of village clubs and activities.
Westbury: a bonfire and firework night will be talking place at White Horse Country Park. The bonfire will be lit from 6.30pm. Tickets for the event are available from the bar and cost £5 for adults, £2.50 for children and £15 for a family ticket.
Sutton Veny, nr Warminster: the annual firework display will be taking place in Alexander Field at 7pm. There will be a parade of Guys at 6pm, with a free glow stick for every Guy, while the bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm. No admission fee.
Tuesday November 5
Trowbridge Firework Display, Gates open 5pm, display 7pm. Family tickets in advance £10 from Scholars Schoolware, John Cadby Jewellers, Howard Travel, TIC. Tickets on the night family £15 single £5 children ( 5-15) £3. Live music, burger bars, refreshments, fairground amusements. Organised by the Rotary Club of Bradford on Avon. Greenhill Farm, Southwick.
Wednesday November 6
Melksham: Aloeric Primary School’s annual bonfire night celebration will take place at the new Forest Community Centre. Doors to the centre open at 6pm, where stalls and refreshments will be available, with the display itself starting at 7pm.
Friday, November 6
Warminster: the Warminster Garrison Fireworks at the Land Warfare Centre in Imber Road will be taking place from 6pm. Tickets cost £3 in advance from Warminster Information Centre or £3.50 on the gate. Entry for under 4s is free.
Westbury: Westbury Junior School will be holding its annual firework display 6.15pm-9pm. Tickets can be purchased from Westbury Junior School office after half term. A family of four ticket is £8, adults £3, children and OAPs £2.50 in advance.
Saturday November 9
Fireworks and bonfire in aid of Bradford on Avon schools, the Beehive Field, Trowbridge Road, Bradford on Avon. A fantastic night of fun and a big fundraiser that raises much needed funds for St Laurence, Fitzmaurice and Christ Church schools.
Gates will open at at 5.30pm. Attractions include a barbecue, hog roast, beer tent including real ales and mulled wine, candy floss, popcorn, and live music. Local groups will be performing from 5.45pm. Fireworks start at 7.00pm. And for children there will be an inflatable assault course and a bouncy castle. Advance tickets are available from the Murco Service Station, (Woolley St); The Castle Inn; Made In Bradford, (Lamb Yard); Hartley Farm, (Winsley); ANP Stores, (Trowbridge Rd); and from Fitzmaurice and Christ Church schools.
Advance tickets prices are £5 adults, £2.50 children (5-17 year olds). Gate prices on the night will be £7 adults and £3 children.
