YEAR 5 pupils at Westbury Junior School were joined by Westbury mayor David Windess on Tuesday for the opening of their revamped pond and wildlife area. During the course of the afternoon, parents came to view the pond and look at all the work completed over the term by the pupils, which included a bug hotel for smaller creatures. Teacher Hannah Duffy, who worked with other Year 5 teachers Rachel Dardecker and Eleanor Storr on the project, said: “We are all extremely proud of the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by all pupils.” Mayor Windess said: “I could see that the children have put a lot of time and effort into it.”
