TROWBRIDGE’S new Library has surpassed Wiltshire Council’s expectations since opening in September last year.
The facility, at County Hall, has acquired 4,378 new members and had 200,888 visitors. That is 14.3 per cent higher than was anticipated. The library moved from Bythesea Road to the refurbished County Hall.
Wiltshire Council’s Jon-athon Seed, cabinet member for libraries, said: “This is an excellent result for the new Trowbridge Library and a real achievement for Wiltshire Council. “This shows people will use a library if it is accessible and provides them with a good service.”
Since the move, the library has recorded a 70 per cent increase in reserving books.
