STUDENTS and staff wore sequins and glitter for a night of intense competition, when three staff couples and two from the sixth form took part in Strictly Melksham Oak to raise funds for the school’s next show, Back to the 80s.
Organiser English teacher Jodi Owens said: “It was brilliant, a really great success. We had about 130 people turn up, which was great, and all the couples danced, with varying degrees of success.
" It was won by maths teacher Amanda Hardy and assistant head teacher Aidan Blowers, who was wearing a particularly loud pink shirt. In fact there were some excellent shirts on display.”
The event raised more than £800, which will help pay for microphones for the November show.
