After three decades of waiting, Trowbridge’s new cinema opens at noon tomorrow.
The £3.7m Odeon, at the St Stephen’s Place Leisure Park, is the town’s first cinema since the Europa closed in the 1980s.
Alison Burns, Odeon senior retail manager, said: “We are so excited to open this beautiful cinema.”
The seven-screen Odeon has a team of 30 staff and a Costa coffee shop.
Sarah Leary, Costa manager, said: “It is great to have a cinema in the town after so many years.”
Odeon has handed out 50,000 discount vouchers to residents.
Town councillors have spent years campaigning to bring a cinema to the town. Wiltshire and Trowbridge councillor John Knight said: “I do think this will help bring Trowbridge back to life on Friday and Saturday nights.”
