I feel sorry for the drivers in Wiltshire regarding the situation with Balfour Beatty and Wiltshire Council. It seems Wiltshire Council, like the Government, is cutting back on road maintenance and using the money to cover other projects.
In last Saturday’s Express it states that drivers pay over £1,100 to the Government in taxes concerning road use and fuel. They have cut their spending to councils who in turn are cutting theirs, therefore Balfour Beatty was not able to get a proper contract to do the work that they bid for. So now fewer potholes are going to be repaired, who is at fault? I would say the Government, who get all the taxes in the first place and start the car rolling.
