Former Bath and England players Jeremy Guscott and David Flatman joined Bath Rugby chief executive Nick Blofeld today to launch Bath Men’s Walk 2014.
The walk, which raises money for Dorothy House Hospice and the Bath Rugby Foundation, will be staged again on February 1, following its debut success earlier this year.
The walkers will start at Doroth House, Winsley and finish at Bath Rugby Recreation Ground, where they will have a free pie and pint and watch the Six Nations clash between France and England on the big screen.
Phillippa Watson, Dorothy House Hospice care events fundraiser, said: “The Bath Men’s Walk was created last year in response to popular demand, particularly from husbands and boyfriends who had seen their other halves take part in the annual Dorothy House Midnight Walk.”
Entrance is open to men and boys over 12 and costs £20. All entrants will be expected to raise sponsorship money or make a personal donation. To register call the hospice’s fundraising team on 01225 721480, or log on to www.bathmenswalk.co.uk.
And groups of 12 walkers who book together will be able to secure a private box at The Rec to watch the Six Nations clash.
