Shoppers in Trowbridge had free health assessments on Tuesday to see if they were at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
The Diabetes UK Healthy Lifestyle Roadshow was held in Fore Street.
Those who were considered to be at risk of having the illness within the next 10 years were referred to a GP, while dieticians gave healthy eating advice.
Graham Cooper, Diabetes UK’s south west regional manager, said: “We estimate that 850,000 people in the UK are at risk of developing the condition – worryingly, there are around 6,800 people in the Wiltshire area alone that have type 2 diabetes but have no idea they do.”
The roadshow has visited Marlborough and Salisbury this week with a final event taking place today at Buttercross, in Chippen-ham’s High Street, between 9am and 4.30pm.
