Two events in Trowbridge this month aim to make life easier for the town’s Polish community.

During the events there will be representatives from Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Council, Citizens Advice Bureau amongst other organisations informing Polish people of all the support available to those who live in Trowbridge.

The first event will be at County Hall, between 6.30pm and 8.30pm, on Wednesday, with the second being held at Trowbridge’s Civic Centre, between noon and 2pm, on Monday, October 28.

Trowbridge Community Area Future staged the events thanks to a grant, of £7,500, from Police and Crime Commissioner Angus Macpherson’s £1m innovation fund.

“We hope we can ensure everyone knows where they can go to get support and access services by attending these events and by using the directory of services we will be publishing online following the events,” said Tracy Sullivan, TCAF project officer.

“We were thrilled to be granted funding for these events through the Police and Crime Commissioners Innovation Fund.”

Wiltshire Times’ columnist Justyna Suszyk, who lives in Trowbridge and writes about the experiences of the town’s Polish community, will be helping as an interpreter at the events.

She said: “This is information everyone should know and it’s good to see so many organisations getting behind this project.”

Visitors will also be able to sign up as volunteer interpreters as part of a long-term project in the town. For more information call Rachel Efemey, Trowbridge community manager, on 01225 718608
