After two weeks of events, the sixth Westbury Music and Arts Festival came to a close on Sunday, with organisers calling the festival the most successful yet.
The festival finished with a sold-out performance by the Opus One Swing Band at the Paragon Hall, which followed a music night at The Laverton on Saturday, hosted by artist Leander Morales.
Luke Concannon, Britain’s Got Talent finalist Sam Kelly, Wildwood Kin, Danielle Reed and Jimmy Davis all performed at the penultimate event, which had also sold out.
As well as entertaining hundreds of people, the festival raised £651.74 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association from money donated at the Imber Service and Bratton Silver Band’s Friday performance.
Festival chairman Roy Inwood said: “The festival did start off a little slowly over the first weekend, but the rest of the events just took off and were all really well attended.
“The last few events were all big successes, especially the Opus Swing Band and Leander’s concert at The Laverton. They were brilliant shows.
“It would definitely have to be our best and most well-attended festival by a long wa, since we started. We had lots of support from the people of Westbury.
“It was also great that we could raise so much for Bratton Silver Band’s nominated charity.”
Mr Inwood said there would be an annual meeting at the end of November, when the committee could discuss this year’s festival and look forward to next year.
He added: “We will look at the areas that were successful and anything that could be improved and make sure next year is even better.”
