Two long-running Trowbridge model railway groups are appealing for help finding new homes.
The top floor of Andil Mill has housed the West Wiltshire Model Railway Circle and the West Wilts Gauge O Group for 40 years and 13 years respectively.
But their landlord HJ Knee Department Store, plans to refurbish the premises – leaving both the groups looking for a new home for their layouts and trains.
Ron Pybus, West Wiltshire Model Railway Circle chairman, said: “We are both looking for premises and if anyone is keen to house us we’d be pleased to hear from them.”
Their current lease ends on March 23, 2014 and they hope to have a new home lined-up by then.
The clubs would be happy to continue sharing a premises but they are open to the idea of having two separate bases also.
John Cruise, West Wilts Gauge O Group leader, said: “We are both clubbing together our resources at the minute trying to find places.
“It is not essential that we stay together but it would be nice.”
Mr Cruise’s group, which has 30 members, celebrated its 30th anniversary earlier this year.
The group meets weekly on Tuesday evening.
The West Wiltshire Model Railway Circle has 18 members and meets every Wednesday night.
Jonathan Knee, from HJ Knee, said he is disappointed to see the groups leave Andill House after so many years and said he wants to help them find somewhere new.
He said: “I know people that have spaces available and would be happy to provide details to the groups as it’s important to find them a long-term solution.
“I wish them all the best for the future and I’m happy to try and help them find something on the budget they have.”
Anyone who thinks they might be able to help the groups can call Mr Pybus on 01225 77440 or Mr Cruise on 01225 755526.
