The Bunch of Grapes pub in Bradford on Avon has closed, after the new tenant left suddenly several weeks after moving in.
The Silver Street pub is owned by Young’s. Tenant Steve Culverhouse moved in two months ago, introducing homemade breads and cakes to the pub, but it has been closed since last week.
A Young’s spokesman said: “The tenant who was in there has left the pub. We do not have another tenant at the moment and we are reviewing our options for the future.”
Kevin Barker was the tenant of The Bunch of Grapes for four years before moving across the road to The Bear Inn in April this year.
He said: “Steve has been a licencee since he was 19. It is a shame it didn’t work out for him. I hope it does open because for a small town it is nice to have a few pubs to choose from.”
