So the saga goes on; I know I am not alone in thinking Joe Muggins is fed up with seeing our money frittered away by the laughable contractors employed by Wiltshire Council. Go for the cheapest, get rubbish, or have they not learned that fact?

Get two dedicated workers in places like the cemetery, who take pride in a job well done.

The cemetery is a disgrace, bits chopped here and there, hedges uncut, flower beds just full of nothing but weeds all summer, dandelions two feet across right by the exit gate, plus a stinking pile of mud and rotting grass, which is spilling over and killing three-foot grass borders.

If they spent less time talking, drinking tea, lying around sometimes nearly an hour waiting for 4pm, more might get done.

A friend of mine monitored a crew working at Seymour Estate three weeks ago, and noted that three hours of the day were spent lying on the grass doing nothing.

The hedge coming into Downside was hanging three feet over the road, scratching cars for weeks. Last weekend, three ladies aged 75+ got together and cut at least 30 feet of it back in less than an hour.

Everywhere you go in Trowbridge you find an eyesore. It’s time someone sorted this contractor out.

They are wasting public money, and Trowbridge as county town should be setting standards.
