A woman has been airlifted to Frenchay Hospital, Bristol after being trapped by a Jaguar car seen reversing in Gloucester Road, Trowbridge, this afternoon.
A 63-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Damien Bence, station manager, said: “We were called to a road traffic collision at 12.44pm to a person trapped. She was trapped underneath the Jaguar by her hair.
“We used equipment from our response unit to jack the vehicle up and used air bags to take the pressure off.
“We released her from the vehicle and put her on a spinal board. The crew treated her for first aid until paramedics arrived.”
Once released, the woman, believed to be in her mid-thirties, was transferred to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance and flown to Frenchay Hospital.
PC Jeff Rice said: “A female has been struck by a vehicle and has sustained serious injuries. The roads will be shut while the investigation team carries out investigations.
“If there are any witnesses contact the serious collision investigation team on 101 or Crimestoppers and speak to PC Sartin.”
