The tank being transported on to the A350 this morning
An abnormal load travelling along the A36 from the Land Warfare Centre in Imber Road caused traffic tailbacks around Warminster at about 10am today.
The abnormal load, an articulated lorry carrying a tank weighing 98 tonnes, travelled from the centre along the A350, before heading along the A36 eastbound around Warminster to the A303.
The load was travelling towards Deptford and was escorted by Wiltshire Police, with Dorset Police taking over when it crossed the border.
