A campaign is being rolled out across Wiltshire to highlight the importance of the seasonal flu vaccine for pregnant women and other ‘at-risk’ groups.
Posters with the vaccine information are up around the county and pregnant women will be given a vaccination passport at antenatal appointments. Photo mounts, given out with 12 week and 20 week scan photos, will also carry the message.
Maggie Rae, director of public health said: “The jab is free to all pregnant women from their GP as pregnant women are particularly vulnerable to complications caused by flu. The seasonal flu jab is safe to have at any stage in pregnancy. The seasonal flu jab will also protect your newborn baby.”
