The man killed in Friday’s traffic collision on the A350, near Trowbridge, is thought to have been connected to a murder in Dorset.
The man driving a silver Toyota Yaris died following a head-on crash with a lorry between Hagg Hill and Stoney Gutter at 6.20am.
Following investigations by Wiltshire Police and Dorset Police they found that the unidentified man may have been involved in the death of Ibrahim Youseuf, from Bournemouth, whose body was found at a house, in Boscombe, Dorset, at 12.34pm on Friday.
Officers from Dorset Police, who made the discovery, had been asked to attend the address by Wiltshire Police.
Detective Inspector Marcus Hester, of the Dorset Police Major Crime Team, said: “As a result of our enquiries I can confirm we are linking this murder to a fatal road traffic collision that occurred in Wiltshire on Friday.
“We are currently liaising closely with Wiltshire Police in relation to this. The details of the deceased from the road traffic collision are currently unknown and we are attempting to identify the driver and contact the next of kin.”
Mr Youseuf was the owner of Five Star Car Wash in Bournemouth.
An inquest into Mr Youseuf's death is expected to be opened and adjourned tomorrow.
