A section of the A350 near Trowbridge will not reopen until at least 3pm following a fatal road collision this morning.
The collision between an articulated lorry, owned by Framptons Transport Services, and a car happened shortly before 6.20am between Hagg Hill and Stoney Gutter.
The man driving the silver Toyota car was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) remain on the scene and work continues to recover the lorry.
The A350 remains shut between the Semington Roundabout on the A361 and the West Ashton crossroads.
The road closure caused much congestion in today's rush hour, with many motorists forced to change their journies, and police are still advising motorists to seek alternative routes.
