More than 240 people from Wiltshire and national services joined forces on Wednesday and Thursday to test local resilience in the face of a disaster, in a two-day table-top exercise that was over a year in the planning.
Wiltshire Police, Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, Wiltshire Council, Swindon Council, South West Ambulance Service, NHS England Area Team, Public Health England, DSTL and Environment Agency were just some of the local partners involved in the exercise, code named Red Kite.
The day brought together experts in all emergencies and gave them a scenario of an aeroplane crash, where multi-agencies would be involved, to test how they would work together.
