Police are investigating reports that two hay bales were deliberately set on fire on farms off Westbury Road, Bratton.
Fire crews were called to tackle around 100 burning bales at 3.20pm last Friday, before returning to another fire at 11pm on Sunday, when a further six tonnes of straw was set alight. Both incidents are being treated as deliberate.
Darren Foulger, Commu-nity Beat Manager for Westbury Rural, said: “Police have received a report that the hay bales were set on fire deliberately. The police are currently investigating this matter and are pursuing lines of enquiry.
“We would appeal to the public to report anyone acting suspiciously. The Neighbour-hood Policing Team and Response Officers will be increasing patrols in the area.”
