Warminstar volunteer Carol Pilkington was one of several helpers and community groups recognised at the fourth Wiltshire Voluntary and Community Awards last week.
The awards, held at the Corn Exchange in Devizes earlier this month, celebrated the achievements of volunteers in the county.
Mrs Pilkington, 68, of Cop-heap Lane, was runner-up in the volunteer of the year award for being a co-ordinator of White Horse Stroke Club.
Mrs Pilkington said: “It was nice to be recognised, but I get a bigger buzz from running the club.” Others recognised included Smallbrook Meadows Wildlife Reserve in Warminster and the West Wiltshire Multi-Faith Forum Women’s Group in Trowbridge.
