Campaigners from Bradford on Avon lobbied outside Coca-Cola’s headquarters in London last week to raise awareness of land grabbing.
Hazel Jones and Gill Brooks, who are members of Bradford on Avon Oxfam group, joined other campaigners to talk to staff about the threat of land grabs to people in developing countries who produce sugar for UK products.
They explained how people are at risk of losing their homes and land to make way to grow crops, and said: “Today was about making people aware of what is going on and a call for action to stop the practice of land grabbing.
“Big corporations like Coca -Cola, which is an iconic brand, have the power and the influence to make change happen and they should act on this.”
