Presenter of CBBC programme Live ‘n’ Deadly Naomi Wilkinson hosted the first of a series of Deadly-themed live shows at Longleat Safari and Adventure Park today.
Naomi, who also presents Naomi’s Nightmares of Nature, treated visitors to some close encounters with a selection of Longleat’s deadliest animals during her Deadly Summer Show.
The shows will take place four times daily until August 18 in Longleat’s outdoor Hunters of the Sky Arena and will include a number of birds of prey.
Animal guests joining Naomi and the birds in the arena, include vultures, skunks and a number of other creatures with deadly reputations.
Naomi said: “The shows so far have been really good and we have had some great crowds already. The atmosphere has been fantastic, especially as the show gets to the big climax.
“It’s really about inspiring the next generation as they will be the ones looking after these amazing animals and we need people who care about them and want to do something to help.
“The shows are 100% live, so you can never be quite sure what to expect, but that’s what makes working with animals so exciting and having the audience reaction is something you don’t get on TV, which is great.”
Naomi was joined in the arena by Longleat’s renowned experts from the Hunters of the Sky team, who helped her to tame some of the deadliest aerial predators in the world.
Entry to the shows is included with a valid Longleat day ticket or annual pass, but places for the performances at 2pm and 5.30pm will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Spaces for the shows at 12pm and 4pm can be booked online in advance.
The Deadly Summer Show is part of Deadly Adventure at Longleat, a four year partnership with BBC Worldwide, which transforms areas of the park in the style of the BBC’s Deadly shows.
