Surf's up in a refurbished nightclub, hoping to bring fun in the sun to Trowbridge when it reopens tonight.
The Moomoo site, in Castle Street, is reopening as The Beach after being transformed into a tropical setting with beach booths, an aqua bike and a varied cocktail menu.
The renovation, which brings the nightclub a new dancefloor and relocates the DJ booth, is part of a rebranding by the Moomoo clubrooms chain, which also has venues in Cheltenham and Redditch.
Manager Nikki Mitchell, 33, who started at the club six weeks ago, said: “This is the biggest refurbishment the club has ever had. We kept the plans under our hats and I think people are going to be surprised by how much of a transformation it is.”
The club will be open between 10am and 3pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with revellers welcome to dress in beachwear, such as shorts, T-shirts and flip-flops.
Miss Mitchell, who lives in Yeovil, said: “The Beach will look really attractive and have a laid back theme. It will bring more people in from places such as Bath and give local people something different to do, meaning they will not have to travel miles away for a good night.
“I’ve only been working here for a short space of time, but the people in Trowbridge are really friendly and we hope they enjoy their time at the Beach.”
Tonight, as part of the launch, there will be snake charmers and stilt walkers to entertain crowds.
