Children taking part in a Summer Reading Challenge got a surprise visit from MP Duncan Hames at Bradford on Avon Library.
Youngsters aged four to 11 are being asked to read six books in the holidays, gaining prizes on the way and a medal and certificate at the end of the challenge.
Mr Hames attended the national launch in Westminster and got free books which he gave to the library in Bridge Street last Thursday.
Librarian Peter Waterman said: βHe has always been very supportive of the challenge and it is something we are keen to promote.β
