North Bradley Primary School pupil Owen Raisey raised around £1,000 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance through a swimming fund-raiser on Sunday.
Nine-year-old Owen swam 64 lengths in an hour at the Trowbridge sports centre pool in Frome Road.
The charity airlifted his great uncle Barry Matthews, 68, to Great Western Hospital, in Swindon, when he had a heart attack in Trowbridge in February 2012.
Mr Matthews, of Dursley Road, died in February this year, and Owen used the event to pay tribute to him.
Owen, who was cheered on by around 30 people, said: “I’m very happy to have raised so much money for a good cause.”
Mum Gayle, of Drynham Park, said: “I was so proud of him and had a tear in my eye at the end of it.”
