TWO friends have teed off a new business venture, opening a mini-golf bar in Trowbridge.
Scott Clist, 35, and Jason Harvey, 37, officially launched Putters Mini Golf Bar, in Church Street, last Wednesday and they hope it will become a popular family attraction.
The bar has an 18-hole African themed course the business partners built themselves in the former Contender Gym building.
Mr Clist, who is deputy manager at Moomoo clubrooms in Castle Street, said: “We didn’t think Trowbridge had a great deal of family entertainment so we came up with the idea for Putters Bar and believe it is something exciting for the town.
“There’s nothing really that fun out there for people to take their children to and we’ve worked really hard together to change that.”
The bar, which has a licence to serve alcohol, will also take party bookings and host corporate events.
It will be open daily from 10am-11pm and Mr Clist said he doesn’t anticipate the bar bringing any trouble to the town centre.
Mr Clist, who is also a cage fighter, said: “This is a family establishment which is happy to welcome anyone, but we are not here for your typical Saturday night trade. I’m sure we’ll attract some people before they go out to pubs and nightclubs but don’t think we’ll encounter any problems.”
From August 14, the bar will also be serving food to its customers.
