Westbury beauty salon Essentially You aims to raise £1,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care during Aug-ust, with several fundraising events taking place throughout the month.
The salon, situated within Number Twelve Hairdressing in Warmin-ster Road, Westbury, has been run by Jo Parker for more than four years.
Miss Parker will open her salon for a fundraising event on August 14 from 10am-7pm, where people can drop in for cake and coffee. She will also be doing £10 nail treatments, booked in advance, with £5 going to charity.
The fundraising will culminate in a sponsored 10km walk at the Badminton Estate on August 31.
Miss Parker said: “I wanted to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care after my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer. It really makes you realise how much you need charities like Marie Curie.
“I also feel very lucky that my salon has been well supported since I’ve been in Westbury and I thought it was time I gave something back.
“I decided on the £1,000 target because that equates to 50 hours of care, so I’m hoping as many people as possible will support me.
“All my tips throughout the month will be donated to fundraising and I’m hoping lots of people will come in on August 14.”
