Villagers in Bratton gave a right royal salute to the newborn Prince George, as they gathered with shotguns to mark the birth.
Village crier Ray Davis organised the 21-gun salute on the recreation ground, to show support for the Royal Family. He rounded up licensed shotgun holders in the village to fire off 21 rounds last Saturday.
Mr Davis said: “We played the national anthem on a sound system and I gave a little speech.
“We didn’t get the people there to watch that we thought we would; there were far less people than there were when we did it for the Jubilee, but we had a reasonable crowd.
“We had ten double- barrelled guns out, so we fired them all twice and then the first one shot again at the end.”
